"The Thin Air"

"A decidedly forward-thinking force to be reckoned with." - Brian Coney

"All About Jazz"

“The quartet, unlike anything to have come out of Belfast previously, is a sonic laboratory unto itself, with eclectic influences shaping its core sound. Built around punk-poet Ryan's spoken/screamed left-field narratives, elements of hard-core, indie-rock, hip-
hop and jazz informed its music...” - Ian Patterson

"Amazing Radio"

"Robocobra Quartet are something extraordinary: a band who may be truly unique." - Dani Charlton

Music For All Occasions (2016) - 12" LP - Abbreviated Records
Iwazaru / Mizaru (2015) - 7" Single - Smalltown America

As an expanding, contracting and ever-changing collective, Robocobra Quartet began performing live in 2014 after studying at the Sonic Arts Research Centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Since then, their no holds barred approach - centred on a howling drummer-vocalist and offset by menacing saxophones - has garnered the group a reputation as a must-see live act.

Having supported Girl Band (IRE), Melt Yourself Down (UK) and Get The Blessing (UK), Robocobra Quartet’s brew of spoken vocals, effects-laden bass, and raw improvisation has taken them to festivals such as Electric Picnic & Brilliant Corners Jazz Festival supporting the release of a limited run lathe-cut 7" on Smalltown America Records.

Bolstered by support from BBC Radio 6 and the PRS Foundation, 2016 has seen the band perform throughout the UK, Ireland & Europe whilst conducting recording sessions in studios and concert halls around Belfast. This culminates in the release of a 12" LP titled 'Music For All Occasions', out 18th November 2016 supported by a full UK tour including two Rough Trade in-store shows.
