Robots do the Work have more hooks than a tackle shop.

Biography

Gavin St. Ours (formerly of Three Track Mind and The Making) fronts the Baltimore-based Robots Do The Work. A veteran of the Baltimore/Washington music scene, St. Ours has written and performed his unique brand of melodic rock with signature hooks and harmonies for nearly a decade. In the studio, he admits to being a control freak. On the debut album, he plays all the instruments, layers his vocals and spends hours hunting down the sound he's after.

Live, the band consists of a revolving yet carefully-picked group of Baltimore-area musicians, capturing the energy and spirit of the recordings on stage.

As songs are finished in the studio, they are available online via audio stream on the band's website (robotsdothework.com). The finished debut album is slated for a Spring 2008 release.

Lyrics

Unlucky in Love

Written By: Robots do the Work

I know what you're saying
I've got to loosen up my mind
But games that we're playing
Well I don't have the time
We've got these embers
But you won't fan the flame
The more that I'm moving
The more I feel the same

If you've got something to say
This is the time and the place
Staring at your clean blank page
Oh, my heart starts to rot
As you're losing the plot
Eventually you'll write me out:
"Unlucky in love"

You feel like you're getting
Very little done
You've filled up a notebook
But you still feel numb
You knew what you wanted
But then you wanted more
You wanted an answer
You wanted to be adored

If you've got something to say
This is the time and the place
Staring at your clean blank page
Oh, my heart starts to rot
As you're losing the plot
Eventually you'll write me out:
"Unlucky in love"
