"THE MISSING LINK BETWEEN PEACHES, LE TIGRE AND PRINCESS SUPERSTAR"

On 22nd September, ROBOTS IN DISGUISE release their third single THE TEARS - an ominous synth-rock classic about paranoid love. What happens when you don't trust your lover - the midnight texts, the fights, the tears - the madness that results. Stop starting histories!

This hypnotic Cure-esque modern ballad taken from The Robots' acclaimed third album (WE'RE IN THE MUSIC BIZ) produced in Berlin by Chris Corner (Sneaker Pimps/I Am X) is being released due to massive demand by RID fans from their 90,000 strong Myspace fanbase. "New Wake Up! Single and Video"

On 19th April 2010, ROBOTS IN DISGUISE release the single Wake Up! – an instantly psychedelic pop-punk stomper inspired by and recorded with the support of leading British cosmetics company, Barry M.

Lending their electro-pop-indie-rock custom to the likes of the cosmetic industry in response to a TV ad Barry M had screened with the tagline, “Wake Up your Make Up”, Sue Denim and Dee Plume set out on a quest to represent their new trademark. With their kaleidoscopic style, rhythmic quirks and befitting fervor for the Barry M make-up brand, the duo pitched to the team at Barry M cosmetics the Robots’ plans to write a song in their honour. Having initiated this new relationship, the cutting-edge collaboration of beauty product and record release saw Barry M reciprocating with their very own enterprise; introducing a new lipstick to their beauty range, in a particular shade of royal, new Robot, blue.

Sue Denim said of the new song – “Wake Up! Is an anthem to creativity and self-expression for all – including being artistic with makeup!”

Bio

The Robots first met at a Le Tigre gig and quickly discovered a shared love of girl punk bands and so started writing music together.

Snapped up by French label, Recall, ROBOTS IN DISGUISE released their eponymous debut album in 2004, creating a real buzz throughout Europe after which they took their crazed live show on tour. Their dancefloor killer 12” single, BOYS, was released with remixes by Hidden Agenda, SIN, The Servant and Tommy Hools and won over a host of fans including Boy George and Peaches.

After a US release and tour in 2005, ROBOTS IN DISGUISE released GET RID!, their sharp, snazzy electrofunk album on Recall in France, Anorak Supersport in Benelux countries and Australia’s Shock Records. Their standout single, DJ’s GOT A GUN, enjoyed heavy rotation across Europe and the States. GET RID! was taken up by President Records in the UK in ‘06, with its single, TURN IT UP, featured on US hit show, Ugly Betty.

ROBOTS IN DISGUISE have graced the pages of numerous fashion magazines donning their discopunk mod look and have also acted in BBC2’s hit show THE MIGHTY BOOSH as evil alter egos, The Electro Girls and The Goth Girls.

In February 2008, ROBOTS IN DISGUISE released their 3rd album, WE’RE IN THE MUSIC BIZ, produced by Chris Corner (Sneaker Pimps/ I Am X) in Berlin. Sharp, dancey, tongue-in-cheek and frequently impossibly catchy, WE’RE IN THE MUSIC BIZ includes the hit singles, THE SEX HAS MADE ME STUPID, WE’RE IN THE MUSIC BIZ and THE TEARS.

This release was followed by much acclamation from fans and press and the ROBOTS IN DISGUISE embarked on an extensive tour which took them around Europe, and more recently to Japan where they featured on stage at the much celebrated ‘BRITISH ANTHEMS’ festival.

The ROBOTS IN DISGUISE are signed to President Records and are currently finalizing their highly anticipated 4th album, which promises to be just as exhilarating and zealous as ever! They have released one single from the new album, "Wake Up" which reached the top 20 in the indie breaker charts . You can see the video here: http://www.robotsindisguise.co.uk/videos/wake-up/ . The Robots are sponsered by Barry M cosmetics for a new lip colour called 'Robot Blue', and jewelry designer Tatty Devine has created new Robots in Disguise blue lipstick necklaces to celebrate the new single.
