Bio
Santa Cruz based singer/songwriter Rob Owen has just completed the studio recording of his June 2007 release Barefoot in the Rain. He has a summer booked full of shows in the San Francisco Bay area including, Foster City Art and Wine Festival, Palo Alto Festival of the Arts, Kuumbwas Songwriters Showcase, Santa Clara Songwriters Showcase, and the list goes on
His accomplishments have been growing exponentially in both studio work and the stage for the past 10 years. Some highlights include: 4 full length cds (3 of which are with his past band Oka Road), a spot on MTVs Fraternity Life series, 2 appearances on one of Monterey Bays largest radio stations KMBY acoustic breakfast, multiple plays on KZSC and KJCC, public television appearances, and also placed in the top 5 out of 100 songwriters in the 2004 MARS Songwriters contest. He was Julys Featured Performer in the FNO newsletter along with receiving a full page article the same month in the Santa Cruz Sentinel Newspaper. In 2003 he was offered a contract from a production/ management company with promises of a major record deal but politely declined. Robs past experience in the music industry has offered insight into what he really likes to do as an artist: Connect with his fans.
