Bio

Best described as Josh Groban wearing Madonna's African print leotard, the music style of Rob Rodell fuses contemporary classical with dance, rock and a shot of Afro-Pop in the world music genre. Whether defined as "popera" or "rockera," the music ably displays Rob's ability as a powerful vocalist with what experts in the music industry refer to as "an impressive vocal range." Aside from the launch of his debut album with collaborator Namwaaka of Platoon, Rob is also working on releasing his debut solo effort in 2008. Listeners who enjoy the likes of Josh Groban, Madonna, Freshlyground, Malaika, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Paul Simon (in the Graceland days), Mango Groove, PJ Powers and Johnny Clegg may find a chord that strikes a resonant note with them when listening to Rob. Rob has also been compared in style and vocal range to Elton John, Freddie Mercury and Mika, having been classically trained as these artists.
