Bio

The Terra Soul Project is the brainchild of bassist/composer/arranger Rob Swanson. Rob has been a bass player and band leader for over 25 years in the metro Philly area. He has co-led many bands including Best of Philly Award Winner, Voice of Reason, The Cartoon Christmas Trio, New World et cet.
The Terra Soul Project is an emsemble that plays high energy music, rooted in the traditions of jazz and world music. Drawing on many influences, the ensemble effortlessly moves from swing, groove, afro-cuban, salsa, samba, reggae and more, while still maintaining the respect of the jazz tradition. The music is realized by world class musicians who have played with the whose who of music world including, but not limited to, Ray Charles, Weather Report, Kieko Matsui, Grover Washington Jr, Dave Valentine, Gladys Knight, LL Cool J., Abbey Lincoln, Ernie Watts, Aretha Franklin and many more. Rob has played a wide scope of venues ranging from the Kimmel Center in Philly to the Gasteig Concert Hall in Munich Germany, to CBGB's in New York City. The Terra Soul Project is an energetic presentation of creative music that truely represents the diversity of our ever changing cultural landscape.
