Biography

Rob Veater is a 21 year-old singer/songwriter and acoustic guitarist. He lives in Newcastle U.K. where he is currently studying for a PhD. His music draws influence from his lifestyle and surroundings: the idyllic Cornish countryside and coastlines where he has spent a great deal of time surfing as well as practising tai chi. His songs resonate with subtle imagery and reflections of lost love, though with maturity and contemplation rather than clich├ęd angst. Drawing influence from a diverse array of artists such as Nick Drake, Adem, Four Tet, Radiohead, Jack Johnson, Mogwai and Sigur Ros. His overall style and sound is a product of all of the above, resulting in acoustic-based, simple, open songs that capture the scenery of life.
This is music to stir the soul and engage the mind.

Lyrics

Autumn

Written By: Rob Veater

VERSE 1
Cold days are long
and time is overthrown
and everything may be changed
All eyes turn up to find
what should have been kept inside
and all that's free is blame

CHORUS
Autumn came in a storm
It rattled round the window panes
And all shape and form
Would mean nothing now anyway
To me

VERSE 2
Fingerprints and painted lies
should have been left inside
and how the times grew cold (oh no)
Turning round alone, unseen
Maybe you didn't see
What all your dreams would be

CHORUS

OUTRO
Oh for all my wrongs
I swear it won't be long
And turn your eyes to see
Will it all fall down?

All Alone

Written By: Rob Veater

Verse 1

Well my words came slow
And time will flow away
with mistakes
And as I watch you go
Black flowers start to grow
In your wake

Chorus

All Alone
I lost my way
I guess i'm wrong
again

Verse 2

And will my thoughts unwind
when life becomes a rhyme
and a game
Sold by Sunday dreams
and lies alive on screens
it's the same

Nothing

Written By: Rob Veater

Verse 1

Well i was there when they made you
I couldn't stand to see what they would do
I ran around to escape this town
Called a number, wrote it down

Chorus

I'll wake her up
(I always do)

Verse 2

I turned a circle, searched for truth
I laughed a lifetime over you
Tie me down with empty vows
maybe next time, maybe now
