Bio

When in the summer of 2009 three friends, Alex Nursultan, Serj Serjoff and Dennis Chech got together in a garage just to play to their hearts’ content, ROCCO the band was born. From the first rehearsal on it was clear that this music would not be contained by a single garage. After nine months of rehearsals and studio work the band was ready to present to public its first studio record entitled «Say My Name!»

* ROCCO was named after Rocco Siffredi (www.roccosiffredi.com), whom the band members hold as the best porn actor of all time. This is the name that represents the traits the band wishes to see onstage best – passion, sex, drive, forward momentum and other glorious excesses. Many songs are based on catchphrases that Rocco himself can be frequently seen uttering in his films – «Nasty», «Say my name», «Take it all».

The musical style that ROCCO chose is a wild, fun, explosive mixture of funk, glam, old school hard-rock and dance music. «We see our mission in reminding everyone that rock’n’roll isn’t about simply flailing around on the stage in leather pants and hip t-shirts. We want to give our all when we play our music and we want our audience to feel that energy», the band members state.

In September 2011 ROCCO released a new record entitled «I Want More» and supported it with a Russian tour that ended up awarding the trio with thousands of adoring new fans all over the country. In 2012 ROCCO further enhanced their status by performing at several large music festivals, both in Russia and otherwise, where their passionate live performance was brought to attention of not only thousands of rock fans, but some of the biggest names in rock as well.

On October, 27, 2012, they opened for legendary British rockers Deep Purple at their show in The St. Petersburg Ice Palace, a place that holds up to 20000 spectators. Later in 2013 they also supported Nazareth at certain stops of their farewell Russian tour, an opportunity they chose to film their first official live video.

In 2013 ROCCO was named The Best Independent Rock Band in Russia by the Emergenza, The World’s Biggest Live band Festival. The final competition of the festival took place in Germany, where ROCCO bravely took to the stage together with 18 bands from 15 different countries.

Currently ROCCO are in the early stages of making their third record, which they plan to support with a full-scale solo tour that would take them all across Russia into Europe.
