Bio

Rocio Marron is a violinist who recently ventured into the world of singing and songwriting. Rocio began her musical career playing the violin at age 9 and attended the Colburn School for Performing Arts while in high school. She went on to receive her Bachelor's degree in Performance Violin from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.

As a violinist, Rocio has toured and recorded with singers Marc Anthony, Joan Sebastian and the East Los Angeles based Quetzal. In addition, she has recorded with acts such as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Raphael Saadiq, Pedro Fernandez, R-15, Tigres Del Norte, Lorenzo Antonio, Grammy nominated Caravana Cubana, and arranged and recorded as the musical director for the Grammy winning Mariachi Divas. Rocio has also performed with Josh Groban on the Tonight Show, Cuban bass legend Cachao, Los Lobos, Los Trio, and as a featured soloist with Ozomatli at the Hollywood Bowl.

Rocio has recorded for several major motion pictures including “Blow” starring Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz, “Dance with Me” starring Vanessa Williams and “The Rugrats Movie”. She has also appeared on television programs such as The Young and the Restless, Saturday Night Live, Mad TV, The Rosie O’Donnel Show, and The Tonight Show. She performed on stage at the MTV Video Music Awards, American Music Awards, Radio Music Awards, and the Grammy’s.

She teaches violin and guitar as a faculty member of the Silverlake Conservatory of Music. Rocio just finished recording her debut album of original music, which she wrote, co-produced, performed vocals, guitar, violin and viola in addition to arranging the strings and vocal harmonies. The album was released on November 8, 2011.
