Bio

Chicagoland’s own ROCKHOUSE is one of the most exciting bands to emerge on the local club and festival scene in years. With a repertoire featuring hits from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, the group brings together a unique combination of talent, songs and showmanship that sets them apart. They offer audiences a fresh mix of longtime favorites laced with hits only the bravest bands would dare to perform, delighting the crowd with a rare live experience.

The group is grounded with seasoned veterans who bring together a remarkable blend of diverse tastes, polished chops, and a passion for performance. Along with this experience comes a built-in following of fans eager to share in the shows. The band’s popularity and growing audience continues to build with each
performance, and 2011 promises to be another banner year. With a distinctive set list balancing classics and progressive hits, ROCKHOUSE is a great choice for today’s club and festival audiences.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBER BIOS

Joe Dokken / Lead Vocals
Joe has been a force in rock music for over 20 years,
first breaking onto the scene as lead singer for the original metal band Eden. The band toured America and Canada in 1991
supporting their critically acclaimed album, Fan the Flame,
which remains popular in the U.S. and Europe to this day. Most
recently, he has been fronting the local area cover band he formed, Vinyl Roxx.

Joe’s music tastes and talent are wide and deep, and particularly
well-suited to covering a broad range of material. His influences
range across the classics and contemporary – from the Beatles to
Bon Jovi, Zeppelin, Styx, Van Halen and Stryper. Polished with
study under Chicago vocal teacher Sheryl Rak, he is equally
comfortable and convincing as he channels iconic voices like
Hagar, Coverdale, Plant and LaBrie.

Zbig Adamczyk / Drums & Vocals
Airline pilot by day, Zbig captains ROCKHOUSE as group
founder and leader, and lays down the band’s huge beat
that locks the rock in place. His influences, including
Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, Vinnie Paul of Pantera,
and Nicko McBrain with Iron Maiden, can be heard both
in his incredible skill and the band’s singular set list. Zbig
has rocked venues like The Thirsty Whale, Stay Out West
and Gateway Theater with his former band, NMS Howel,
signed to Red Light Records.

In addition to being Captain of the band, Zbig is also
Chief Engineer, producing all the band’s recordings.

Pete Greisch / Bass Guitar & Vocals
Pete is a cornerstone of “the HOUSE”, both grounding the band’s sound with his gifted bass guitar chops, and drawing on his years of experience on the live music scene to help guide the band. Pete inherits his impeccable groove from his house band drummer Dad who first started him behind the kit as a
youngster.

He picked up the bass guitar at age 10 and, inspired along the way by icons like John Paul Jones, Geddy Lee and Stuart Hamm, grew into today’s outstanding performer. Pete is a seasoned veteran, with tour experience across a four state
region, and band credits including Problems, Five Foot Nothing,
Staple Down, and Damage, rockin’ out Chicago area clubs including Haymakers, Synergy, Toto’s and Reilly’s Daughter.

Chris Malchin / Lead Guitar & Vocals
Chris first picked up the guitar at age 12 and hasn’t put it down since. Playing in bands since high school, he went on to study
guitar at Indiana University’s renowned School of Music, and
continues learning from mentors the likes of Chicago’s own
Dave Uhrich. His many guitar heroes include legends Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen and Nuno Bettencourt, and he has been indelibly
influenced by bands across the metal spectrum – from Kiss, AC/DC, Sabbath and Ozzy to Iron Maiden, Crüe
and Ratt. Chris is a familiar face on the area club scene,
most recently appearing with Chicagoland rockers 4Play.

Tommy Shimko / Guitar
Tommy is a standout up and coming talent with an obvious passion for his art and craft. After a few years of piano as a youth he switched to guitar in 7th grade and never looked back, honing his skills influenced by a wide range of artists and acts – from Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn, to Zakk Wylde and Paul Gilbert; from Megadeath and Metallica, to Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters. His past projects include gigs with
The Decoy, and Edwards Eruption. Tommy also is already sharing his exceptional talent and inspiring attitude, mentoring the next generation of players by teaching guitar to area youngsters.

David Spethmann / Keyboards & Vocals
David begged his folks for piano lessons before his feet could reach the pedals, finally starting at age 6 and finishing with a degree in music. He came of age under the spell of progressive keyboard pioneers Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman, along with the more mainstream sounds of artists like Elton John and Billy Joel.

A well-traveled pro, David’s past bands include Euphoria, August,
Next Exit and The Silverfish, and he has
