"The Rockie Brown Band"

The Rockie Brown Band blends the vocal approach of Lauryn Hill with the soulful pop feel of Adele while savoring an old-school bluesy funk sound. It starts with sultry front woman Rockie Brown inviting everyone to “get your sexy freak on and take your pants off” with her pinned-up barrel curls cranked, jazzing on her piano and belting out a strong, sassy vocal attitude. Backed by two more dynamite female vocalists, this soulful quartet was a powerhouse of traditional rhythm and blues mixed with modern Motown.

Guitarist James Caselton complemented the ’50s-style lounge act by throwing in funky rhythmic wah-wah pedal fills. Stand-up bassist Alfonso Bernal locked in nicely with drummer Nick Kittle, who provided the soothing rhythm that guided the band through two great sets of original music. The diverse elements of this sexy, dimly lit intimate show mixed fluidly with great beats, contagious energy and a smack of cool. ????? - Vegas Seven Magazine

Bio

Have you ever been "smacked with cool?" Well that is exactly what you get when you listen to the music of the Rockie Brown Band.

In 2011 four Las Vegas musical nomads came together to fill a void in their lives; a void that could only be filled by setting aside their top 40 music charts and instead, writing their own original, infectious Pop and R&B tunes.

The band started with the rhythm section: Nick Kittle on drums and Alfonso "Cito" Bernal on the bass, remnants of an extinct rock band. A coworker of Nick's begged him to give his girlfriend an audition. To this day Nick and Cito have been mending their jaws back to health after Rockie blew them away with her sultry voice and contagious piano driven compositions. The only thing missing was a guitar virtuoso. Cito cornered James in a Vegas casino elevator and made him take a quick listen to a recording of the nascent band from his iPhone. Without a moments hesitation James "King of the Castle" Caselton signed onto the project and The Rockie Brown Band was born.

The Rockie Brown Band has quickly amassed a large catalog of " all thrills no frills" material. They are the house band for one of the hottest cocktail lounges in Las Vegas, The Downtown Cocktail Room. They have cut their teeth on big stage performances in local Las Vegas festivals. Audiences are constantly wooed by Rockie's sexy voice and lovable stage antics. People's hips gyrate in ecstasy to the melodies and grooves laid down by Nick, Cito and James. This is one band not to miss!
