Biography
Bass player Maarten Plukker, drummer Martijn Peerdeman, keyboardist Stuart Kerkhof and guitarist Ivo Meijer were brought together in the centre of music and arts, Artiance in Alkmaar, to form a band. (Sept.2010)
From the moment they met, it was clear that there was chemistry between the guys. Both on personal and on musical level they grew towards each other. In February 2012, the band Rockin 'Horse People was complete; Nadia Kadhim was the new singer of the band.
Initially, the band played covers from different genres. Today, they write their own material, in which the influences from different styles of music are noticeable. The influence of these different styles, as well as the interpretation from each band member, gives Rockin 'Horse People a unique and personal sound.
A wide range of styles: funk, blues, rock and here and there a jazzy touch. Nothing is missing in the band’s music.
Both live as well in the studio, Rockin 'Horse People cannot be placed in a box. The band has has developed, combining different styles in a diverse and dynamic way. Each member of the band is given the room to show and develop their personal skills, but the main goal is never out of sight: creating great music.
