We're an all acoustic cover band. We cover material from AC/DC to Zac Brown Band. Love to people engaged and singing along to our songs.

Biography

The Department covers a wide variety of material. We range from blues, country, modern country, rock, and classic rock. The bands that influence us the most are The Rolling Stones, Pearl Jam, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Zac Brown band, The Who, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Steve Miller Band, Kenny Chesney, Alan Jackson, and many others.

What sets us apart from other bands is that we make songs our own and we do them all acoustically. Our philosophy is that music should be kept simple; most people at the bar scene want to hear great songs, sing to the chorus's, and have a great time. We try to give them that experience through every gig, every set, every song, and every verse.

The Department began as a two person set. Sanders and Egli were the only two members in the band and did an all acoustic set list. Later Hotmire and Methner joined the band and added a full complete sound to the band. We gave ourselves the name "The Department" because we are all English teachers and teach within the same area.
