Bio
Rod Francis is a folk singer who carries his acoustic guitar, a soft voice and a lot of charisma everywhere he performs. With influences that range from Bob Dylan to Dave Matthews Band, he creatively blends different rhythms that harmonize perfectly and create unique sounds. Often compared to Nick Drake and David Gray, the touches of his South African roots make his music go beyond traditional folk, with some extra energy that cheers up any environment.
His entertaining acoustic performance has a sprinkle of humor that captivates the audience and leads them to interact and get completely involved in the friendly, positive climate. “A real complete show that truly entertains the audience, with a simplicity that makes you feel home”, were some of the words that SESC magazine used to define his performance.
Readers and coffee lovers make most of his audience, and in Francis’ opinion this is due to the philosophic meaning within the lyrics, which inspires and stimulates people’s minds, making perfect match to a good book and a cup of coffee.
