Rodney Massey

Rodney Massey, native of Atlanta, Georgia, is a songwriter, musician, and singer. Starting piano at a tender age of 4 and guitar at 18, Rodney is a musician at heart. Rodney describes his music as, "Honest, Encouraging, Relative, Impactful, and Convicting." Through his original songs and diverse musical arrangements, Rodney believes he has the ability to reach a broad age range and culture with his music. "I believe I have a unique ability to connect with people through my music. I'll be the first one to admit that I don't have the greatest voice you ever heard; but I think you can see an honest, authentic, and genuine passion in me when I perform that blesses and ministers to people. I never want to just reach and minister to one group, culture or age range. I want to reach as many people as possible."
With his first CD, "The Definition of Home" coming out in early 2012, Rodney hopes to encourage and reach those who are hurting and in need of Christ's never-ending love. "I know and see a lot of different "home" situations, such as divorce, abuse, infidelity, and abandonment. I don't know of anyone else who writes about the home, so I ultimately want people to see that Christ is the only way to have a successful "home."
Like many artists in today's world, money and fame is the top priority; however, Rodney is quite different. By using the musical abilities God has given him, Rodney does not perform for money but does so because of His passion and love for Jesus Christ and His people. "I don't do music and ministry for money, fame or popularity. I do it because I believe that God has given me a great love and passion for ministering to His people. As long as I stay humble and in God's will then I have no doubt that He'll do great things with me."
Rodney hopes that through his music, listeners will not only be able to relate and connect with the songs, but also clearly display his love, devotion, and personal relationship with Christ. Bible verses Matthew 6:33, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well," and I Peter 5:6, "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time," are his guiding philosophies for his musical career.
While his music career is at its beginnings, Rodney has a gift that he is willing to share with the world. "My goal for the present is to share what God has given me till now and to the people He gives me."
