Rodney the Walrus is three childhood Acadians friends native of the Caraquet area in New Brunswick . It's in a rented rehearsal space at Musikopratik in Verdun in early 2013 that they first met simply to have fun jamming with a couple of beers.
After several rehearsal, they realized that a dark force was pushing them to write songs. They named this force Rodney and gave him strength and life through the mythical animal that is the walrus.
They quickly immersed themselves in their common universe with their roots in their homeland of Acadia, developing a unique Stoner/Punk/Garage sound.
With influences as bands like Gros Mené, Galaxie, Malajube , Queens of the Stone Age, Thermals, they quickly developed an approach and a philosophy of their own. This allows them to be spontaneous and have very few limits, the egos are left at the door and every ideas are good.
They are currently working on their first full-length, scheduled to be released this fall of 2016.
