Brazilian born Rod Pires started playing guitar on a broken acoustic with three strings at age five. Music quickly became his biggest passion, and by the time he moved to the US at age 11, he became a YouTube sensation almost overnight playing cover songs in his room. His voice captured the hearts of thousands across the world, and his channel quickly blew up with over two million views and twenty thousand subscribers.
By age fifteen this internet following had blossomed into a minor phenomenon, and a stint with the Vans Warped Tour in 2010 made it clear that not only did Rod have a strong following nationwide, but that his engaging, charismatic performance style was able to win over kids around the country in a live setting.
Now eighteen, Rod is launching a solo career that has already turned heads and created a buzz worldwide; his debut tour in Brazil was to enthusiastic sell out crowds, and his first (self-released) three song acoustic EP "Love, Love, Love" has instantly turned heads and drawn comparisons to a young John Mayer. With three songs that can only be described as raw, pure, and honest, Rod's sound is turning heads and reminding everyone who hears it (from pre-teens to adults) what they love about music. One thing is clear though.. the sky is the limit for this young singer/songwriter.
