"Review: Rofo Audio - Reach album"

Artist: Rofo Audio
Album: Reach
Release Date: Oct. 27, 2016
Genre: Rock

On Rofo Audio’s new album, “Reach,” the Royersford, PA trio achieves new heights in its songwriting, blending classic and alternative styles that continue to define this band’s unique, signature sound.

The eight-track offering of mostly mid-to-up-tempo tunes begins with “The Architect,” a versatile and progressive opener that begins with a rootsy, low-toned intro. Gentle in some parts, but funky in others, the opening track sets the tone for the band’s ambitions on its sophomore release.

Vocals, led by frontman/guitarist Raymond Short and supported by both Andy Mihalcik (drums) and Steve Reinheimer (bass), feature rich harmonies that dabble in the more soulful side of alternative rock. The vocal blend is particularly crisp on “Entitled,” the bright album closer.

Other album highlights include “Fold,” which features a sweet bassline from Reinheimer and a mellow, slightly spacey bridge, and “Codependent,” the band’s wise choice for a lead single, which blends classic rock guitars (think Def Leppard) with the catchiness of a 90s alternative hit.

Track listing:
1) The Architect
2) Refrain
3) Fold
4) Codependent
5) Inked
6) Bread
7) Down Again
8) Entitled - lehighvalleyunderground

"Rofo Audio Thanks Fans & Supporters with ‘Codependent’ Video"

Over the past year, Rofo Audio has proven to be one of the hottest and most talented up-and-coming rock bands on our scene. This has resulted in the band receiving a good amount of local support from fans and music support organizations throughout eastern PA.

The trio — Raymond Short, Andy Mihalcik, and Steve Reinheimer — has also been quick to show gratitude for all of the support. Now, they add to that reputation with an all-new video for their single, “Codependent.”

The video features footage from various performances throughout the area, as well as images featuring fans, supporters, and organizations that have shown love to the band. (Guys, thanks for the love around the 2:07 mark.)

"Review: Rofo Audio – Now Broadcasting"

Artist: Rofo Audio
Album: Now Broadcasting (LISTEN)
Release Date: Oct. 1, 2015
Genre: Rock

It took Rofo Audio 18 months to complete their debut, “Now Broadcasting,” from start to finish. When it came out last October, the rock world was treated to an album well worth the wait and spoken in a voice that is unique to the band

The ability to make so many different styles play nice on the record is a testament to the chemistry of Rofo Audio, comprised of veteran musicians Raymond Short, Erik Lindermoyer, and Andy Mihalcik. One particular highlight “From the Bottom,” which showcases the band’s songwriting prowess and concludes with a two-minute instrumental jam that features a progressive bass groove reminiscent of Tool, followed by a guitar solo that calls Lynyrd Skynyrd to mind.

Another nice feature on “Now Broadcasting” are the vocal harmonies, performed by all three members of the band at various points. These harmonies are especially crisp on the album’s closer, “Tell Me Something,” which seemingly and seamlessly appears to equally derive its sensibilities from modern blues rock and 50s pop rock.

Rofo Audio is “Now Broadcasting” its members’ collective talents to the world. The album’s eight well-seasoned rock tracks make certain that listeners won’t be tuning out anytime soon. - Lehigh Valley Underground

"Royersford rock band Rofo Audio involves local businesses in their music videos"

Power trio Rofo Audio are like unofficial ambassadors for the Spring-Ford Chamber of Commerce.

The two music videos for songs off their sophomore album “Reach” prominently involved local businesses. “Fold” was shot at Limerick’s Bon Homie Adult Day Center, where singer/guitarist Raymond Short’s wife works. Nearing completion is a video for the song “Inked,” which has a plot involving a small-town girl starting to find her way in the world (and a subplot about a returning military veteran), and is loaded with scenes around downtown Royersford, including Annamarie’s Place Restaurant, Sweet Ashley’s Chocolate, Integrity Tattoo (the song is called “Inked,” after all), plus Spring City live music venue Chaplin’s.

“Everybody just climbed on board,” said Short, who produced and posted a 30-second commercial for Sweet Ashley’s to the band’s Facebook page Aug. 7 that was culled from footage recorded for the music video.

The band also features Erik Lindenmoyer on bass and Andy Mihalcik on drums. Mihalcik and Short were previously in a cover band called The Nameless Few.
Both Rofo Audio albums were produced by Bret Alexander, formerly of Selinsgrove, Pa. roots rock band The Badlees, who rose to national exposure in the mid-’90s. A Spring-Ford alumnus, Short said that when he was studying music and video production at Bloomsburg University, he interned at a recording studio where Alexander was the chief engineer.

The band’s name, which references the colloquial abbreviation for Royersford, is actually “a good conversation piece,” according to Short. Mark Rogers, the host of the “Hometown Heroes” show on 93.7 WSTW in Wilmington “spent a lot of time here, and he knows,” according to Short.

“Does anybody know what Rofo means?,” Rogers reportedly once said while working an audience at a “Hometown Heroes” live show.

Besides the “Inked” video, a Christmas single, with an accompanying video, is slated for November release. “There’s no record deals to be had out there. Everything is just do-it-yourself. The question is how bad do you want it?,” said Short, who is 50 and married with children. “I feel lucky to be the age I am and making the music I make, and having the artistic avenue I have.”

Rofo Audio’s music is on all streaming services and available for purchase at www.cdbaby.com. On social media, there’s the “Rofo Audio Official” YouTube channel, www.facebook.com/rofoaudiomusic and @rofoaudioband on Instagram and Twitter.

They’re also performing a “drive in concert,” with food catering services, Aug. 19 at Parkhouse Nursing Center. - Daily Local News
