Lyrics

What to do with love lost

Written By: Roger Richard Fontaine

What to do with love lost?
By Roger Fontaine July07

Words that reach down in my heart , that touch the place where love resides

Words that find a place to live, that don’t pretend to hide their lies

Many times I’ve failed to see what unspoken words conceal

And time goes marching on without concern for love that’s lost

Hearts break like shattered glass, the damage seems to have no end

Never take love for granted, making plans which don’t work out.

Chorus:
No sense in fantasizing about someone who sees you not

Clean out the rot which festers deep within my dungeon

Why persist in making efforts to love someone who sees you not?

Darkness hangs upon my soul and light seems distant for me tonight

Hope a word that laughs at me and sneers as if it knows my plight

Words I cannot find to quiet the voices which torment my heart

Words cannot help me make the choices which are chosen at the start

So I languish in my despair not knowing what my love is doing

While I compose a silly air which talks of brokenhearted fare.
