Roger Mendez was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. His family moved to Eagle Pass when he was still in grade school. Without many recreational activities available in a small border town, Roger picked up the guitar and never put it down again.
Roger has been playing for the last 26 years, since he was 7 years old. He has a natural musical ability, probably inherited from his musically talented family. His grandmother was an Opera singer, while his mother was an accomplished young concert pianist. In addition, both of Roger¡¦s brothers are talented guitar players.
Over the past twenty years Roger has played with many bands, some garage other gigging but over the last year and a half, Roger has slowed down on the touring and has concentrated on his writing.
Time to Heal ¡V 2005 is the result.
The CD is full of Roger¡¦s original sound and touched by his many musical influences, from the greats of blues, rock and heavy metal to the classical, flamenco and Latin feel.
Time to Heal is haunting, heart wrenching, hopeful and mostly optimistic. Time to Heal ¡V the time has come.
