Roken Is Dodelijk

Hailing from Lille (France), Roken is Dodelijk have a Dutch name (which means "smoking kills" or more exactly "smoking is deadly") and sing in English.
Their elegant indie pop sound is nurtured by this geographical mix... their melodies are as easy to remember as their name is hard to pronounce (well, not so hard actually, pronounce this three times without breathing: "raw can is daw de lick").
Their songs are continually wavering between the dark romance of Nick Drake and the cool light of Belle and Sebastian, with a pinch of dEUS sweat.
The six band members are constantly switching instruments and sing with the secret desire to get your legs moving and your lips blowing smoky sounds.
They are equally at ease sharing this in venues or warming you up in the streets (with their Blogotheque's Take Away Show!).
