Bio
Born and raised in San Diego, California to a military family, the charismatic 24 year old singer, Rolando Garza, kicks off 2009 with a debut of rock songs sung in Spanish from his up and coming CD, “No Es Lo Mismo.”
Rolando Garza started singing at a very young age. He participated in school talent shows and family events, singing songs from artists such as Ritchie Valens, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Temptations, Vicente Fernandez, Jose Alfredo Jimenez and Pedro Infante, leaving his audience captivated. He knew then that singing would be his life passion. At the age of 15 he was introduced to a gentleman who would become his vocal teacher and friend, Mr. Billy Prunell. Billy believed in Rolando’s talent so much that he entered him in the “Los Angeles Spotlight Talent Show,” taking home the first prize. He also won the first prize at “Temecula Valley Showcase” two years in a row.
Besides singing, Rolando’s other passion is acting. At 18 years age Rolando signed a contract with Kazarian Spencer and Associates Talent Agency, this lead him to rolls on television programs such as Will and Grace, ER, The George Lopez show, MTV reality show “My Own” and a commercial for McDonalds.
In 2007 Rolando Garza was invited to tour with the salsa Band, “The Escovedo Project.” They toured throughout the US and Japan. The experience that he gained reaffirmed his desire to work on his own project and follow his love of rock music.
Currently Rolando is in the studio writing and recording his original material with producer/songwriters, Javier Ceja, Leticia Ascencio and Jeeve Ducornet, who have written and produced songs for artists such as, Daniela Romo, Luis Fonsi, Javier Iglesias, Edens Crush, and Rigo Luna. The collection of songs will give you a slight insight into Rolando’s romantic side. Songs such as “Dime Que Si”, “Eres Tu” and “Sueno Contigo” will have the ladies falling in love all over again.
With the support of his family, production and management team, Richard Moreno and Nick Martinez, Rolando is well on his way to making his dreams come true.
