Bob Dylan is not just your average pop icon -- he's a bona-fide legend. And Lawton Gafford is not just a Bob Dylan fan. He's a Bob Dylan Scholar.

He's read all the books, watched all the movies and TV appearances, heard all the bootlegs and outtakes, memorized the lyrics, figured out the chords, blown all the harp solos, and seen enough Bob shows over the last 15 years to last anyone two lifetimes.
Lawton knows the differences between "Tangled Up in Blue" from "Blood on the Tapes" and the one from "Real Live". He knows everything on "Ten of Swords". He knows when the "Never-ending Tour" started, and has a damn good guess when it might end. He knows what really happened with the motorcycle crash. He knows who "Mr. Jones" really is.

But now, Lawton is eager to share what he's learned: that Dylan's music and words continue to be a force to be reckoned with; an inspiration to fans around the world, across four generations and on into the 21st century. In short, he's on "A Mission From Bob".

And supporting his worthy cause are five experienced Atlanta musicians and fellow Dylan fanatics: enchanting singer/guitarist Holly Belle, lead axe-man and Atlanta scene vet Mike Goldman (The Eyes, Stovall), spot-on drummer Jeff Dehner (of Blake Rainey and his Demons), and bass-ace and longtime collaborator Andy Tegethoff (Solution Science Systems, the Taybacks).

Obviously these five believers have done their homework. They take their arrangement cues not just from Dylan's recorded catalog, but from the best versions of his material as played by The Band, the Byrds, and the Grateful Dead -- not to mention Dylan's own greatest live incarnations (e.g. the "Rolling Thunder" band and his current touring group).

With a vast repertoire, spectacular soloists, spot-on harmonica playing, uncannily Dylan-esque vocals, and a rhythm section that truly is down in the groove, who else could manifest the power and glory of Dylan's music but the one-and-only Bob Dylan cover band, the Rolling Thunder Revue?
