"Romantic Rebel: Self Titled E.P"

Chicago’s ROMANTIC REBEL has four songs to make me love them, can they do it?

Yes, they can and they did it within the first thirty seconds of the first song “Waste My Mind” on their debut EP. The guitar starts up playing a nice melody, then the vocals kick in from Cherry Bomb which are strong and has great timber, and then the bass and guitar kick in with a vengeance. What a great song to kick off the EP, then we move into their single “Dirty Love Song” that has great background vocals, killer drumming, some wild guitar leads, powerful bass and the strong forceful vocals just soar in this song which I can see why it was picked as a single, catchy and memorable. Third song “On My Own” starts with some acoustic guitar, then kicks into high gear with electric guitar which is incredible on this entire track, the bass charges across the song, the drums are just amazing on here with them being so intense, but then so are the vocals which just are amazing. They wrap it up with their cover of “Long Live Rock’n’Roll” by Rainbow and just crush it with the intensity that they put into the song. This EP has a lot of classic rock influences in it, but still has a modern feel, and Cherry Bomb has a voice that has a bit of Alannah Myles to it with both vocalists having strong, powerful voices, but that is only a reference, not a copy of her style by any means.

A great start to a career that should be very long if they continue to make music this good in the future.

"Pavement Entertainment Sign Chicago's Romantic Rebel To Development Deal"

"Romantic Rebel started off in 2012 as a project between siblings KT and Alex and quickly became a full time venture in six very short months. The Chicago, IL based duo immediately began writing a catalog of original material siting influences such as Van Halen and Aerosmith. The band tapped former Smashing Pumpkins touring drummer Matt Walker and entered the studio to record a four song demo at world renowned CRC Studios (Chicago, IL) in September of 2012.

Becoming a promotion machine, the group immediately started booking shows, passing out demos, and filmed a video for the lead track “Dirty Love Song”. Front woman KT started using social media tactics to get their music in the hands of many industry people, as well as, many well known hard rock bands. One such person was Tim King, bassist for the heavy Rock band SOiL and Director of A&R at Pavement Entertainment. Tim immediately brought the project to Pavement President Mark Nawara. “I told Mark there was something special in this band and we should develop them” states King. “I knew with some hard work we could have the next successful female fronted rock act on our hands”. Pavement quickly snatched up the band and re-entered CRC Studios to re-work the track “Dirty Love Song”.

“The experience was awesome” says guitarist Alex Vincent. “Dirty Love song came to life in a whole new way”. Vocalist KT chimes in: “The experience of taking our music to new heights was an exciting process and taught us a great deal about the songwriting process”

Romantic Rebel will begin booking dates around the midwest and branching out to other areas of the country.

The lead track “Dirty Love Song” will be made available as a special digital release via Pavement Entertainment mid 2013.

"Romantic Rebel"

Ok, let's get a couple of things out of the way first. While the album cover is hot, it is not quite in the same league as Morning Dew. I drove over mountains to listen to that album! =) I will, however, give the band muchos kudos for the album cover. You see, the cover found on Romantic Rebel is an actual photo of the lead singer of the band and she goes by the name of Cherri Bomb. She certainly seems to like red lipstick and black clothing. I think it works pretty well for her! If you want more proof, check out the band's facebook or website as you will see PLENTY more proof.

Romantic Rebel is a hard rock band out of Chicago and this 4 song EP represents the band's debut album. I would expect some classic hard rock material with a bit of some modern rock influence. Cherri Bomb is a very solid rock vocalist who hits all the right notes and is certainly likable, vocals included! The first 3 songs are certainly very listenable, but not quite memorable enough from a songwriting perspective to be top tier, but they are close. I do, however, like the guitar solos by guitarist Alex Vincent and wish perhaps his guitar playing played a bigger role on the songs. The last song Long Live Rock n' Roll elevates the band to the next level. It is pure classic hard rock with some memorable riffing and very nice vocals from Cherri Bomb. I am very glad the band shed any trace of a modern influence for this track and I would much rather the band went this direction with all of their music.

Romantic Rebel is a very nice female fronted hard rock band with a bright future. I would certainly put them in the same breathe as Halestorm. Based on the last song on this EP, I think the band has the potential to be better than Halestorm. Romantic Rebel will appeal to hard rock fans as well as fans of female fronted music. The band has a YouTube video out for the song Dirty Love Song if you want to check out Cherri ...... and the band, too! - Butterflyman

"Romantic Rebel E.P (2012)"

ROMANTIC REBEL is a new Chicago based Hard Rock band presenting their self titled debut EP recently recorded.
The trio is fronted by pinup model Cherri Bomb, whom apart from wearing sexy black fishnets and furious red lipstick, owns a killer voice to boot.

At first glance I was expecting some kind of modern rock in these four tracks, but Romantic Rebel surprises us with late '80s sounding female fronted styled Hard Rock.
Cherri Bomb's vocals spreads tons of personality and solid pipes over the meaty and sustained guitars delivered by Alex Vincent. This guy has a thunderous sound reminding me Billy Duffy work on The Cult's albums at the end of the eighties.
Romantic Rebel could recall more recent acts such a Halestorm as well, but their musical approach is much more classic.
First track "Waste My Mind" is driven by a melting six-string riff and a contagious refrain, followed by "Dirty Love Song", the more modern oriented track in the EP and chosen as single / video, obviously to get some airplay in the radio.
"On My Own" adds some acoustics and pace changes but the song has a heavy electric riff too, including wah wah and a mix sounding quite vintage.
For the end, Romantic Rebel blows a stronghold take on Rainbow's "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll". I can't remember other female fronted act covering this tune, but the band does justice to this classic tune with an incendiary version.

Romantic Rebel is a more than promising Female Fronted Hard Rock trio in a genre where doesn't abound bands playing this style with a sound firmly planted in the late '80s.
Cherri Bomb certainly can sing (and she's got the looks) while Alex Vincent fills the music with hot chops and a solid-rock sound. Production is really good - recorded & mixed by Steve Weeder (Michael Thompson's 'Future Past', Styx) - with a vintage feel in places, balanced with an updated vibe.
Late eighties / early nineties Female Fronted Hard Rock fans will embrace this EP with open arms.
Let's wait for a full length release to see if Romantic Rebel is able to jump into the major league. They have the potential.
Good Rockin' stuff.
