New music from Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines... a new kind of OPM

Biography

Romeo Mascariñas a.k.a Romeo Romeo is a veteran musician from Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines. Originally a lead guitarist (when he played for Wine & Roses Band in Japan in the late 80s) he switched to being a versatile keyboard player which made him very attractive to younger generation of bands and musicians. His influences range from pop to rock, to jazz and even to the current day hiphop. He currently plays keyboard for the Centerstage Band performing every weekend at the Lazer Disco of Bohol Tropics. A singer-songwriter in his own right, he pursued songwriting to an even greater heights when he decided to collaborate with New Orleans-based priest-songwriter, Fr. J. Roel Lungay, in 2009, in a musical venture they call "Gone Country!" Romeo is currently working on a project - his first in more than 30 years of performing covers - which he hopes to leave as a legacy on "fixed form."

Being new to songwriting, Romeo Mascariñas is open to signing his songs to music publishers and/or for other artists to perform. Any interested party, please contact him at frosmusic@yahoo.com. or, roromusic2009@yahoo.com

Lyrics

Love Somehow Will Find A Place In Our Hearts

Written By: J. Roel Lungay - Romeo C. Mascariñas

1
There’s no telling where it’ll end
There’s no saying we’re just friends
All I can say right now is don’t say a word
Love somehow will find a place in our hearts.

2
I’m in no hurry I can wait
I’ll just tarry ’til it’s here
All I can do right now is not say a word
Love somehow will find a place in our hearts.

CHORUS:
I know what love does for you
There’s not much explaining to do
Love somehow will tickle our hearts
And settle inside [that’s why/that‘s right].
The joy that you feel inside
Is much like taking you off for a ride
Love somehow will take its flight
In joining our hearts in love.

3
I can imagine what I feel
Yet I wonder if it’s real
I’ll just close my eyes and not say a word
Love somehow will find a place in our hearts.

(Interlude)

(Chorus)

CODA:
I’ll just close my eyes and not say a word
Love somehow will find a place in our hearts.

Road To Nowhere

Written By: J. Roel Lungay - Romeo C. Mascariñas

1
There’s a highway down the road
People trav‘ling, young and old
Which direction I don’t know but I was told…
It’s called the road to nowhere.

2
There’s a dude in jet-black hair
With guitar and picking tunes
Where he came from no one knows but I was told…
He came from road to nowhere.

REFRAIN:
There’s a road to nowhere
Many people standing there
Road to nowhere
I wanna do my dancing there
Like a marketplace
It’s crowded and you can’t hear
It’s a road to nowhere
Really, road to nowhere.

(Interlude)

BRIDGE:
Down that road you can’t show your face
Expect to be embraced
I was told you are on your own
Or you can hit the road!

3
Love to travel down that road
No return and no regrets
Love to tell my kids one day when I am old
I’ve been to the road to nowhere.

(Refrain)

CODA:
Like a marketplace
It’s full of crowd, but then
It’s a road to nowhere.
Yeah, really road to nowhere.
Like a marketplace
It’s full of crowd, but then
It’s a road to nowhere.
You bet, it's road to nowhere.
