The best kept secret in music

By ANGIE ROMERO & ALBERT SABATÉ
Is the music world ready for another Romeo? They better be, because 17-year-old Roméo Testa is ready to conquer it.
The soulful pop singer, who looks like Taylor Lautner’s brother from a Latina mother, was born in Montezuma, Costa Rica and raised in Los Angeles. Since getting signed to Columbia Records earlier this year, he’s been hard at work recording his debut album in London, with Adele’s stellar songwriting and production team (Eg White, Dan Wilson, Fraser T. Smith, and others) — so you already know it’s gonna be awesome.
On Saturday, he’ll play on the main stage of Univision Radio’s H2O Music Fest, the same stage where one of his singing idols (and label mate) John Legend will play, along with exciting acts such as Wisin y Yandel, Snoop Lion, Paulina Rubio, and others.
If you haven’t done so already, get your tickets now.
You’ll be seeing a lot more of Roméo, but remember: you heard him here first!
If you want to hear more, check out his song “Someday” on his YouTube page, which reminds us of Counting Crows’ Adam Duritz. - Univision Tumblr

Bio
Raised in Los Angeles, soulful pop 17-year-old singer songwriter Roméo Testa who resembles an urban Elvis from a Latina mother, was born in Costa Rica. At 16, Roméo signed to Columbia Records where he began writing his own emotionally complex songs and recording his debut album in London, with Adele’s stellar songwriting and production team including Dan Wilson, Eg White, Fraser T. Smith, among others. Testa’s sound incorporates wide-ranging urban influences that paint his songs with passion fusing melodic hymns with soulful choruses and a larger than life pop production. Testa most recently finished playing the main stage at the Univision “H20” Festival. Roméo’s major label debut will be out in 2013.
