Bio

When it comes to the world of entertainment you simply can not separate music & fashion. And if there is one thing that time has proven in these two areas is that things DO come back. Since the conception of Rome To Paris in the fall of 2005, the band has taken elements of what “made” the music & fashion in the Decade Of Decadence (better known as the 80’s) and revamped it to create their own signature sound and appeal. After years of living in Hollywood, Ca. and stuggling to define what would become Rome To Paris’ musical forte’ singer/songwriter/guitarist Mike Valeri explained, “It came to me one day when I was reflecting on the L.A. music scene and realized what I DIDN’T want this project to be”. One call to an old friend and bandmate J. Grace back in their hometown of El Paso, Tx. was all it took to realize they were both on the same level & direction of what they were searching for musically and coneptually in a band. The decision was made, and less than six weeks later Mike Valeri was back in El Paso writing music away from the saturation of L.A. with guitarist J.Grace. After working with several drummers, guitarists, and bassists Mike & J. decided to make it a three piece, for the time being, & just concentrate on looking for a drummer. Oddly enough, the person who J. had mentioned six months earlier, but had no idea if he was still living in El Paso turned up. Jason Hemingway, who apart from being an amazing drummer is an accomplished guitarist, pianist & singer. “All it took was me hearing him warm up before we tried him out and I knew he was the guy...” remarks Mike Valeri. Now less than a year after it’s conception Rome To Paris has shared the stage & toured with national acts such as Shiny Toy Guns, Kill Hannah, & Clear Static, and has played & co-headlined at notable venues such as House Of Blues & Hollywood’s Key Club. In a time where the sounds of the 80’s are breaking back through in cohesion with the indie music scene, Rome To Paris has taken slivers of new wave and refined them with pop metal elements of the 80’s to create a movement that hasn’t been seen since the supergroups of the Decade of Decadence.
