It's, like a spell! A daze, like being possessed by a dark cloud...? Is that crying face a devil's scream? Or is it a baby's cries? Perhaps both of these are true... / Japanese magazine "Dokupanshi" 2010 Edition, page 3
- Dokupan Koubou

"."

Her voice seems as though born of a consciousness knotted in confusion, as though possessed by something. Yet at the same time it is beautiful, and endlessly deep, and clear. She is a musician, a performer, and that unique, extraordinary performance allows no acts to follow. Her performances have many effects at her disposal, and she wreaks both creation and destruction in real time. Her transcendental music shows us the hypocrisy of humanity, the cruelty, and the purity. —from "Real Japanese Underground 2008"

Bio

I am a Japanese alternative singer-songwriter who lives in Sendai. When I was in kindergarten, I used to play around with my father's classical guitar, treating it like a toy. At the same time, I became immersed in drawing pictures and writing novels. (Several of the lyrics for my current songs were written at that time.) After that, I started taking proper classical guitar lessons, and in elementary school I placed fourth in the nationwide guitar recital.
In high school, I joined the brass band, and learned the clarinet and the saxophone. After that, I absorbed a variety of styles, such as blues and folk music, and took inspiration from cutting-edge experimental musicians and artists from around the world, which had a dramatic impact upon my current style. By manipulating in realtime the large amount of equipment that is lined up at my feet, and making use of such things as toy keyboards for which I have intentionally broken some electronic circuits, thus creating a unique and wonderful atmosphere.
Using this consistent method of expression, I have always exposed the hidden true feelings of humans. Sometimes, I perplex the listener, but I have a way of composing the expression, via the pure act of expression itself, and the feeling of presence. Currently, I collaborate live with cutting-edge artistscentering on Tokyo.
