Bio

After playing in various groups during high school, Ron founded the popular Buckeye Biscuit Band in Cleveland Ohio, where he grew up. The band released an independent album locally and made many road trips to play at venues and colleges throughout the Northeast and Midwest. But change is the essence of existence and Ron eventually left the life of a touring professional musician to study classical guitar, receiving both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in classical guitar performance.

After several years spent as a college music teacher at Texas Tech University, The University of Akron, and Midland College (guitar, music theory, acoustics, recording technology, etc.), Ron made his way to the West Coast and hit the scene in Hollywood just as the MIDI and Digital Audio Workstation revolution was changing the industry.

During the 90's Ron did a stint in Hollywood as a Digital Sound Editor, composer and musician for TV and film. Through his TV underscore work, Ron became a published BMI writer and his music and guitar playing showed up in several TV shows (including the Zorro series on the cable Family Channel, and the animated Fraggle Rock on NBC).

Ron then spent several years traveling the world as an executive working for the companies that made these wonderful digital audio/video machines - companies like Avid Technology, Akai, Sonic Solutions, WaveFrame, and others. Bringing these tools to the industry put Ron in contact with recording facilities and major film studios throughout North America, Japan, Europe, and Brazil.

These days, Ron spends his time performing and recording in and around San Diego, California, with occasional forays to venues out of town. Ron’s contemporary New Acoustic music shows the influence of the great acoustic singer-songwriters with guitar work influenced by his classical training.
