Rónán Ó Snodaigh born on the 1st day of the new decade (1stJan-1970) brings a new brand of music with him where ever he goes. He comes from Dublin, Ireland and was brought up in an Irish speaking home. His first love of music is the Irish drum the Bodhrán. Busking with this on the streets of Dublin he became part of a wave of Irish musicians who's roots orignate from Dublin's busking culture. Here is he was heard by renowned 80's band Dead Can Dance and brought on tour with them for two years as percussionist and features on their live concert Towards the Within. Rónán's own band Kíla were steadily growing at this time also and by 1993 with the release of their hit album Tóg é go bog é they started to become a force in the global World music scene. Kíla have gone on to release nine albums and concert DVD - 'Once Upon A Time' www.kila.ie

Rónán has produced four solo albums to date, his latest album 'Water off a Duck's Back' will be released September 2010. All songs written by Rónán the album also features Liam Ó Maonlaí on Keyboards, Steve Cooney Guitar, Martin Brunsden - Double Bass, Conor Murray - Kit and Simon O Reilly electric guitar

Rónán has also composed music for many film and TV projects,
most recently he has composed new music for Crossing the Line production ' Wild Journeys' a three part nature series broadcast on Ireland's national Television station RTE1 March 2010 www.rte.ie/tv/wildjourneys/
He is currently working on a new series 'Return of the Raptors' for the same production company due for broadcast November 2010.
Rónán's music has used in BBC Timewatch documentaries, countless Irish TV productions, oscar nominated 'The Secret of Kells' feature animated movie amongst others.
