"Local Gospel Music Sensation to Release Fourth Album"

Ronald Jones is music extraordinaire. Ron, as he is most often called, will release his fourth album—“Inspired Praise” – on November 3, 2007, at 6:00PM at Elim Christian Fellowship here in Greensboro. This concert is a collaborative effort between Elim Christian Fellowship and BeSmooth Entertainment & AMJ Studios of Jamestown, NC. This project is the result of tears, prayers and the essence of faith.

“Inspired Praise” has long been in the works for several years as Ron has been writing divinely-inspired songs for praise and worship for as long as he has been a church musician. However, the devastating events of September 29, 2006, with the illness and sudden passing of his brother, halted his plans for several months as his grieving heart took its toll. Yet in a quiet, still moment in the spring of this year, Ron heard the whisper of the Lord through his brother Don who inspired him to “get up and move on”—thus, the finished product is dedicated to the memory of Reverend Don Jones Sr.

Ron is no stranger to the recording or music business. The purpose of this event is to share with the greater Triad community the tremendous gift of God through the extraordinary talent of Ron Jones. Founded in 1991, Ron and his dynamic, spirit-filled group, Perfect Praise, have been about the business of winning souls for Christ. All of the music is composed and arranged by Ron, who describes his musical style as “contemporary with a traditional flair.”

In 1993, his first album, “Hallelujah,” experienced tremendous regional success earning Ron Jones and Perfect Praise the pleasure of opening for and performing with several well-known gospel greats, including John Kee, Yolanda Adams, Edwin Hawkins, Douglas Miller, Milton Brunson, Witness, Jonathon Slocum, and Ben Tankard, to name a few. That same year Ron Jones and Perfect Praise won the most distinguished title and award of “Best Group” given by the Waljo Gospel Music Awards. His second album, recorded in 1998 entitled “In His Care,” achieved the same anticipated regional success. “King of Glory,” Ron’s third album was not only a success regionally, but also a blessing to the North Carolina A&T State University Fellowship Gospel Choir, as it became a fundraising mechanism for a scholarship fund created by Ron Jones in October 2004.

In 2006, Ron wrote and produced “Be a Witness,” the most recent album release by the North Carolina A&T State University Fellowship Gospel Choir. The album is another form of Ron’s commitment to education and his drive to see that students not allow financial hardships to rob them of the destiny God has ordained for them.

The event is free to the public and all are invited to attend. Elim Christian Fellowship is located at 507 Balboa Street, here in the city of Greensboro. The event will begin promptly at 6:00PM on November 3.

Bio

Up and coming musicians from far and wide have heralded Ronald Jennings Jones a Greensboro legend, a master teacher, & a beast on the keys. Born September 26, 1965, Ron began playing the organ at the age of twelve. His musical savvy is instinctual and genetic as he comes from a family of musicians including his father and brother (now deceased), who both played the organ for the majority of their lives. By age thirteen, Ron was playing in church.

Ron Jones continued to study and develop his musical gifts while he was a student at N. C. A&T State University in Greensboro, N.C. He became the assistant trainer/director of the N. C. A&T Fellowship Gospel Choir and remained so until his graduation from the university in 1987. In 1989 Mr. Jones was hired by the university as the trainer/director of the highly acclaimed, award-winning N. C. A&T Fellowship Gospel Choir and remains there to date. The Choir has traveled extensively and has recorded its fifth album in 2005 entitled “Be a Witness.” Close to 95% of the songs the choir has sung and recorded since his inception in ’89 have been written and produced by Ron Jones.

Outside of the choir, Ron Jones’s personal gospel-singing career has met with tremendous regional success. Formerly known as Ron Jones and Perfect Praise, Ron has performed with national gospel recording artists Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin, John Kee, Edwin Hawkins, Douglas Miller, Milton Brunson, Witness, Jonathon Slocum, and Ben Tankard, to name a few. Going solo in 2004 though, Ron Jones maintains Perfect Praise, a group he formed in May 1991 not only to serve as his background singers in concert, but also to serve the community through outreach. Through various efforts over the years, Ron Jones & Perfect Praise has made a positive impact throughout the community in sponsoring Thank God It’s Friday services and canned food and clothing drives, as well as through partnerships with other nonprofit organizations for the purpose of liberating, educating, and empowering young people while at the same time, enhancing the arts.

The lyrics of Ron Jones’s songs are divinely inspired, resonating a passion and thankfulness for God’s love and grace that penetrates the hearts, minds, and souls of congregations everywhere he goes to share his ministry. Likewise, all of the music is composed and arranged by Ron Jones, who describes his musical style as “contemporary with a traditional flair.”

Ron Jones’s first album with Perfect Praise entitled “Hallelujah” was recorded in 1993 and earned Ron Jones & Perfect Praise the most distinguished title and award of “Best Group” given by the Waljo Gospel Music Awards, representing North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. “In His Care,” the group’s second album recorded in 2001, secured its place on the gospel music scene in the southeast region of the United States, while “King of Glory” – Ron Jones’s third album and first solo effort released in October 2004 – intensified the airwaves on an even greater level to truly reach the masses and to win souls to Christ.

Ron Jones’s newly released “Inspired Praise” holds a special place in his heart. This album, composed of all praise & worship songs he describes as “soul-stirring, uplifting, and upbeat,” is dedicated in the memory of his brother, Reverend Don Jones Sr., who passed away September 29, 2006. One of dominant reasons why Ron Jones is such a respected and esteemed musician today emanates from the inspiration of his big brother, Don, who supported and encouraged him to be “excellent on purpose.” After a six-month delay, Ron Jones was inspired by a whisper from Don to “get up and keep moving” to complete the project which debuted on November 3, 2007, in Greensboro, NC, to a near standing-room only crowd.

Giving all glory and praise to God, Ron Jones is most fervently determined to be more than just an excellent contemporary gospel artist; his primary goal is to be an ambassador for Christ in song, word and deed everywhere it goes. In so doing, his desire is to glorify His Father with perfect praise.
