"SAY SOMETHING PRETTY" by Ron Ka ipo; Ka ipo Records. Genre: World Music. Distinguishing notes: Ron Ka ipo has been absent from the reording scene for some time now; he periodically fashions a contagious brew (check out "This Melody," with a cathy tune that lingers and promotes sing-and clap-along joy, with both English and Hawaiian lyrics; "Polynesian Serenade," with a romantic posture that seems suitable for a Don Ho-type voice.) He does turn in some clever lines and projects some warm images. The outlook: adiamond in the rough; fellow entertainers might find a gem to adopt and extract for a show. Our take: Ka ipo's worth as a composer has not diminished with time. - Honolulu Advertiser

A composer since the late 60's in the Hawaiian islands, no stranger to lounges and showrooms. The versality is very evident when you are in the audience, Blues, R&B, Country, Easy listening, Adult Contemporary, Hawaiian, his impressions of Don Ho and Ray Charles are show stoppers.
