Feeling a bit camera shy

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Ron grew up surrounded by the music and influences of various rock and blues bands throughout the area. It was through his sister that at a very young age Ron began listening to the sounds of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, along with the numerous blues and rock bands of greater Chicagoland. Often sitting in and attending practice sessions and small gatherings with Ron in tow, his sister unknowingly stoked the fire of Ron’s passion for music.

It was through these many influences, genres, and artists a unique mix of sounds were combined and mixed together inside Ron’s head. Ron purchased his first guitar at 13 from a flea market on the South Side after seeing a small sidewalk band performing for the buyers. Purchased with borrowed money, he began playing the various sounds that he had been exposed to years before.

Having begun to teach himself to play guitar and without any formal training, Ron moved on to become the guitarist in a garage band called The Limited Exchange, an all original rock and blues band. The highlight of the band’s success was performing as the beginning musical act before blues legend Lonnie Brooks took the stage at Lincoln Park Fest in the heart of Chicago.

Soon after this performance, Ron continued on to complete a university degree. He attended school part time while working full time in the business world. Having achieved the goals he setout years ago in business, he once again returned to his true passion, music. After an extended delay, he returned to his music with a renewed dedication and passion. While he physically may have left the music scene, his love of music never left.

Ron now is putting to paper and audio the songs, sounds, lyrics, and verse that has been swirling around for so many years. The sound is a mixture of genres from blues to rock to metal to folk combining to form a unique sound that is all it’s own. Ron’s playing is heavily influenced by the blues sound from the city he hails from with a noticeable twist from melodic bands such as Pink Floyd. Even though he is currently a solo artist, Ron has cultivated a dynamic network of professional musicians throughout the area to accommodate any live performances.
