Roofie

Born, Anthony Amir Rofoogar, in the corrupt city of Laredo, Texas to a mother of Mexican decent and a father of Iranian decent, “Roofie” was raised in an environment driven by cartel violence. At the age of 15 Roofie was perplexed by the world around him. With an ambition for music and lyrics, he was attracted to the world of Hip-Hop at an early age. With influences ranging from punk bands like Death Before Dishonor, Rancid and Dropkick Murphys to hip-hop artist such as Eminem, Tech N9NE, The Fugees, and Kanye West. Roofie truly has “Mannie Styles”. By 17 Roofie had made a name for himself in South Texas playing local shows and events every weekend. A year later he moved to San Marcos to attend Texas State University. Using central Texas as a new outlet Roofie began recording and promoting mixtapes. Playing in clubs throughout San Antonio, San Marcos, and most recently opening up for Daddy Yankee at the Laredo Entertainment Center, Roofie quickly established himself as a genuine hip-hop lyricists. He is most noted for his distinct energetic live performances. From crowd participation to his use of unique props, Roofie delivers an experience all on its own. Currently he is recording his debut album at Promiseland Studios in Austin, Texas.
