"Urban Tulsa Weekly (Jan 18, 2012)"

Also high on my list is Roots of Thought. The band's single, "I Think," was one of the most interesting and eclectic on the latest compilation... this is the band that promises to offer the freshest and most unique live show. If the band presents itself as strongly on the Cain's stage as it does in the single, it could prove to be the band to gain the most out of this show and become the must see local band of the year. That said, I'm anxious to see if the band can deliver a full set as fresh and energetic as its single. " - G.K. Hizer

"The Daily O'Collegian (Apr 11, 2012)"

"Tuesday night on Library Lawn, Oklahoma State University students and the Stillwater community got a taste of local music...The band that won the competition through audience voting was Roots of Thought, the last to play. Thanks to their upbeat songs and entertaining style, the band came out on top." - Oliver Henderson

"Zoe Adler - Teen View Music"

"Roots of Thought is what I would call "Psychedelic Indie Rock"...When the music gets going, there is definitely a 60's psychadelia going on. Nowhere is this truer than in the song "Lotus" where West's vocals shine and the guitars are allowed to dance around in your head freely. If you listen to their EP "Parallel Self", you will get a sense of the diverse abilities of this group of talented musicians. I am really looking forward to enjoying their show at Rocklahoma 2016...this is another band you should put on your "must-see" list." - Zoe Adler - Teen View Music

"Jerry Wofford - TULSA WORLD"

"Roots of Thought has settled into a psychedelic indie rock form, but that form isn’t their definition...Earlier releases were quick hits from lyrics and sounds they already had stowed away. But coming together and digging deeper, they found something new, and that’s where “Familiar Feelings” came from." - Jerry Wofford - TULSA WORLD

Discography

The four-piece psyche-pop band releases their second installment, "Familiar Feelings" to showcase their newfound style. From that quintessential feeling of infatuation portrayed in "My Little Mirror", to the all-too-well-known sense of regret and sorrow depicted in "Something I Should Have Said", singer, Tazmen West tells the story of love from all angles. Logan Meldrum, guitarist, paints the instrumental backdrop for the songs drawing inspiration from classical, flamenco, jazz, African, and other cultural styles suffusing and blending into something different altogether. The band has received feedback from fans drawing comparisons to artists like Glass Animals, Alt-j, and, strangely enough, The Doors.
