Born in South Afrika in a time of struggle and raised during the hope for change, MXO and SLIQANGEL grew from Xhosa origins to become acclaimed musicians whose voices and beliefs would be amplified by guitar and harmonica led Afro Soul Funk.
Through a common passion and respect for their heritage their souls joined into ROOTS2000, giving birth to new sounds heard and understood by the awaiting world.
MXO’s irresistible passionate energy and raspy baritone voice together with SLIQANGEL’s adoring crooning soulfulness melts into a seductive and tantalizing sound. Their grooves makes souls cheer and reflects a passion for life that invites dance and movement.
