Roots Foundation is a hardcore Reggae group from St.Maarten/St.Martin, in the central Caribbean. They are the vibe of the Island and are becoming increasingly well-known to tourists as well as both French and Dutch locals. Their sound of harmonious purity defines real roots reggae.

Biography

Under the leadership of reggae singer “Kaya”, the Roots Foundation Band was formed in 1991, starting with 11 members .
Today, the band consists of five members.

Although Kaya is the sole original member since 1991, the old vibes are still there . When the band plays, fans can still hear the “Roots” sound with more maturity & experience .

The Roots Foundation is all about spreading conscious messages about Love, Life, Nature, Culture & Society through their music .

Their first single “Earth Crisis”, released in 2007, is a hardcore roots reggae song, in which Roots Foundation tried to make people aware of the struggles the world is going through today and that something must be done . Their first album "Wake up" is due to be released in May 2010 .
