Bio

At the ripe old age of 6 Roots Nation is making remarkable strides and grabbing a rapidly growing fan base throughout New England. The band formed in November of 2003 when a group of seven seasoned musicians of varying musical backgrounds and interests came together to forward the one style of music they all shared a common love and vision of - Roots Reggae.

Their music is infectious and to say the music will have your feet aching to dance would not be a stretch in the least. They combine elements of Old School Ska, Lovers Rock, Rock Steady, and Roots Reggae and blend it together with some American musical spice like Rock and Hip Hop and "BAM" you're tapping your foot and shakin' your booty before you realize it.

Authenticity is the hallmark of the band and a duty the musicians feel they are born to play by as they pay respects to the Trenchtown originators like Coxsone Dodd and Duke Reid, and their Studio One and Treasure Isle record labels that forged the first steps in the Golden Age of Roots Reggae music.

The band's one two punch are the tight in-your-face horn section and the classic three part Reggae vocal harmonies.

"New roots based eggae from this All Star band. They play some of the nicest old time Reggae you've ever danced to. With tasty nods to the classics, these folks also write some righteous stuff of their own. Their horns are right out of the Don Drummond book. These guys get it right on the spot."
-Dana Westover, Johnny D's Uptown Lounge, Somerville, MA

"Rising stars of the New England Reggae scene. each time the crowd gets bigger. Why? They're great. What more needs to be said about good music?"
-Peter Hamelin, The Stone Church, New Market, NH

"Absolutely beautiful heartical heartical music. I haven't heard any straight forward, from the heart music like this in a long time."
-Sister Dafina, Coventry, VT

"Nice vibes last night with Roots Nation, trust me. The band is tight and they play some wicked Studio One riddims."
-Jah Rich, D.J., Boston, MA
