Rosa Morena Russa

I was born in a family of classical musicians in Taganrog in southern Russia and grew up in Kiev (Ukraine). Music accompanied me all my life. With seven I started to sing and play guitar. At the age of 13 I was cast in the musical theater for children, “Pintele” and have taken part of three European tours. When I was 17, my family moved to Hamburg. Here I sang in various projects (pop, jazz, klezmer) and took private lessons with the American singer Joanne Bell. It was followed by my studying at the Hamburg School of Music and the stay in Rio de Janeiro. Gradually, I learned the following instruments: piano, percussion (esp. cajon), panderio and berimbau. I was lucky to share the stage with musicians like Osmar Milito, Giora Feidman, David Krakauer and Quique Sinesi. In 2007 I discovered for myself the guitar again, I fell in love with the instrument and it bore fruits with many songs. The work on the album “Está ficando Russo” began in 2009 and his release is expected in late 2012.
