"Rose"

myspace.com/rockwithrose

Rose is an exciting face on the acoustic folk scene with angelic vocals and a spunky stage presence. Known for her pink hair, this songbird has a history growing up in the music scene and an uncle, Jim Kweskin of the Jim Kweskin and the Jug Band and who notably got his start playing as a duo with Bob Dylan, so it’s no surprise this lass has the chops. Without a doubt, listeners of the genre will fall in love with Rose. Keep your eyes out later in 2007 for her full length record. . — SB

Bio

Hailing from inner-city Boston, DC singer-songwriter Rose carries one heck of a story. Born into one of the "communities" of the 1960's, Rose was raised surrounded by musicians of the Cambridge folk scene, most notably her uncle, Jim Kweskin of the beloved Jim Kweskin and the Jug Band, who has played with everyone from Bob Dylan to Janis Joplin.
Rose grew up on stages all across the country singing old-timey country, jazz and blues. So, no surprise, when she began taking her own path and writing music, it came out in Americana form, an amalgamation of American music. Rose has performed recently on stages with John Doe, Vashti Bunyan, Maria Muldaur, John Sebastian, and Brandon Butler.
"Rose's self-assured, not-strictly-conventional songs and sweet voice bring to mind '80s college rock faves such as the Sundays and Edie Brickell."
