Rosenguard

It seems that just about every band coming up through the Myspace music scene is a metal band of some sort. There are good bands, decent bands, terrible bands, and then there are bands like Rosenguard. Fortunately for Rosenguard, they’re in an elite group playing with very few worthwhile peers.

The four guys who make up Rosenguard dub themselves as metal/black metal/progressive hearkening themselves to bands like Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, and Pantera. You can hear these influences in their music and unlike the millions of other bands who list off these bands as their influences, Rosenguard actually delivers a metal-lovers feast of in-your-face guitars, brutal drumming, and bassplaying that would make Dethklok’s William Murderface proud. In a time that’s starving for good metal, Rosenguard brings the goods redefining everything that makes metal what it is.

Lead singer Nick Rogers manages to make growled vocals and much more melodic singing seem effortless. His vocals cutRosenguard through the mix of his and Tomek Spirak’s guitars, rise above Nenad Lazic’s furious bassline, and Garrettt Scanlan’s monstrous drums.

For those of you who have been lamenting the death of metal in America, check out Rosenguard. They have somehow found a way to take everything that was good about metal and make it even better. They’ve mastered the chunky rhythms that drive much of metal, the lead guitar work that is melodic, moody and incredible, the drums that have you holding your gut in fear that it may very well drop out your ass, and the bass that moves in a dangerous, furious lockstep with all the elements.

They feature three songs from their CD “Requiem for the Innocent” on their Myspace player which are just incredibly solid metal songs.
