Bio

Picture this, you turn on the radio and you hear an infectious song. The vocals are sultry; the soul is reminiscent of your favorite Motown artist.  The song ends, but you keep singing the chorus. The melody won’t escape your head. You are inquisitive so you seek out who that artist is. You get a website address and when the browser opens you find a stunning beauty on your screen. You take a closer look, but you can’t figure out what ethnicity this gorgeous female is. Is she of African descent? Is she part Spanish? Guess what… she is Rosette.

A 21-year-old Canadian beauty, Rosette has been singing, dancing, and acting since the age of 5. Growing up in Vancouver, Canada, Rosette has lived through her share of trials and tribulations, to which she accredits to her natural writing ability. Rosette explains, “I try and write about what is real. If I’m going through something, I tend to use songwriting as my therapy. If I’m feeling good and I wanna dance, then I express myself through my party side. It’s important for me to express all of my emotions.”  From the club banger, “Uh Oh”, the smooth R&B groove of “Crushed”, to the heart wrenching “I Owe”, Rosette takes you on a true musical & emotional voyage through her life.

After a year and a half of recording internationally with mega writer/producers such as Just Blaze (Janet Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, Fat Joe, Jay Z), Steve Kipner (Natasha Bedingfield, Christina Aguilera, Chicago), Kovas (De La Soul, Billy Crawford), and Canada’s own BananaToons (Kelly Rowland, Jessica Simpson, Clay Aiken, 98 Degrees, The Corrs), and SA Trackworks (Laura Pausini, O Town, Stacie Orrico), and Adam H. (NewSchool, Bianca, George Clinton, The Manhattans) Rosette’s debut album is scheduled for release on October 4th, 2005. “I’m very proud of this record, and I can’t wait to see what life’s next chapter brings… regardless of what it is, I’m ready” states Rosette, “I just can’t wait to start performing”.

As the debut artist on The BananaToons & SA Trackworks new imprint label, Shred Records, and the newly formed RockStar Music Corp, headed by industry veteran Michael Hektoen (former manager- Kool and the Gang, Michael Kamen, Aurra /owner, internationally renowned NYC based Media Sound Studios / Executive Producer for multiple platinum and gold albums & Adam H. (of Adam H. Entertainment Group Ltd.) Rosette is excited and ready to take on the world.

When asked who her biggest influences are Rosette cites some of the most powerful voices in music: Etta James for her depth, Jill Scott for her authenticity, Michael and Janet Jackson for their moves. “There are really so many talented singers that I love studying. As a kid I used to dream about being an artist like them, and now I’m still in shock that I even actually got to record an album!”

With numerous credits to her name, Rosette has defied all of the odds. From being a finalist on television’s “PopStars: The One”, to guest starring roles in hit movies and series such as “Scooby Doo”, “Scary Movie”, and “The L Word”, Rosette is destined for success.  Fueled with sheer natural talent, amazing stage presence, unstoppable writing ability, and super model looks, Rosette has all of the ingredients to accomplish her goal… to make music that touches people.
