Bio
Rosewood can be traced back to Corpse of the Seventh. The brothers Andrew (Vocals) and Tyler Davidson (Guitars) (both from St-Jerome, QC) began their own band, Corpse of the Seventh, in late 2007 with bassist Justin Simpson (from Lachute, QC) and two Lachute locals on guitar, and keys with a Ottawa native on drums.
Jesse White (Guitars) and Patrick Campbell (Drums) were in their own respective local projects at this time. Corpse of the Seventh approached Jesse after they removed one of their Lachute guitarists from the roster. Not long after, they approached Patrick as the temporary drummer and eventually, the permenant drummer of their band.
Finally, with the removal of keyboards from the band entirely in early 2010, we settled on a new title, "Rosewood".
From this point on, Rosewood became our lives. We put all of our passion and emotion into every section and second of every song we have ever written. We are comfortable calling ourselves a "deathcore" band but we try our best to stay away from being typical. We strive to create new approaches, new grooves, new sounds and new feelings through our sound.
Personal influences go right across all of the spectrums; they include bands like And Hell Followed With, Oceano, Volumes, Chelsea Grin, and Legend which are typical of our style. Then, we have our other influences like Behemoth, Dahlia, Sikth, Periphery, Meshuggah, King Crimson, Killswitch, Pantera, Unearth, and the list goes on and on. Those are the infuences that add the culture and broadness of sound that we pride ourselves in writing.
Our story is one of success, no matter what the outcome. We are all best friends who love doing what we love to do. Write and play what we love to hear. We only hope you can see the emotion we jam into every song we write.
