"Rosie Bans live at Su Casa"

"Rosie Bans – Very professional performer. Originally from Glasgow but now based in London, Rosie obviously possesses a wide knowledge of songwriting technique. The dynamic range constantly varied, she’d have the audience bopping along to the jazzy rhythms or have them perched on the edge of their seats, mesmerised by her dreamy vocals." - Watch This Space UK

"Rosie Bans live at The Roxy 171"

"Some performers are like circus ringmasters when they are on stage. Rosie Bans was one such performer and she soon tamed the animals in the audience. Benefitting from a musical education and thus actually knowing what syncopation is, she adopted a direct approach to audience manipulation through the kind of slick songs and slap your face banter that easily marked her out as a proper entertainer and that’s a rare thing to see in Glasgow these days.

Job done, as they say." - Bluesbunny

Bio

Born in Glasgow to a Scottish mother and a Scottish/Indian father, Rosie was encouraged in music from an early age. Based in London since 2010, her relentless gig schedule has taken her around the country, each show characterised by her tireless energy and infectious enthusiasm.

Drawing inspiration from the vocal talents of Gloria Gaynor and Stevie Nicks, and from the songwriting skills of Imogen Heap and Tori Amos, Rosie's music is at once intelligent and accessible. Rich with instantly memorable choruses and rhythmic piano grooves which belie a subtle compositional complexity seldom found in pop music, it is easy to understand why her writing has such wide ranging appeal.

Autumn 2011 saw Rosie take to the road with fellow singer songwriter Erin Todd on the Killer Heels UK tour, bringing her music to new audiences in major cities around England, Scotland and Wales. The response to these concerts was overwhelmingly positive, and a more extensive tour is already in the pipeline for 2012.

Rosie has recorded 3 E.P.s to date, receiving airplay on local radio and being featured on the in-house playlist of Scottish coffee house chain Beanscene.
