Bio
Rosie Catalano is a Sydney-based singer-songwriter whose lyrics balance bittersweet nostalgia with playful humour to create vivid, cinematic songs.
Rosie embarked on a solo career following her 2009 collaboration with Little Birdy and has since crowdfunded her independent self-titled debut EP which went on to recieve critical success, making its way on to Triple J’s playlist and selected as ABC Radio National’s ‘Album of the Week’.
Produced and arranged by Miss Little’s Sarah McCallum, Rosie’s EP features a stellar line-up of guest musicians including Terepai Richmond (The Whitlams, Missy Higgins), Neal Sutherland (Bertie Blackman) and Brian Campeau (The Rescue Ships).
A compulsive raconteur, Rosie came to music through her writing. Her evocative, vignette-style prose has been published in the anthology Nine Tenths Below (Halstead Press), and the adventurous illustrated novel, Mitsu: The Dark Witch and The Dream Wilderness (Trafford). Ever unique, Rosie’s works capture the quirky and honest notes in her world.
