Roslyn is a band that plays a mix of funk, jazz, psychedelia and rock. The sound comes from mixing highly trained musicians with self-taught musicians. We love to play music influenced by the 60's, sometimes light and peace-loving, other times like a psycho-funk train.

Roslyn is a group of great friends, which shows in their music. The band has been together since April 2008, but all members of the group have been in a variety of different musical projects since a young age.

Roslyn has been impressing fans and critics alike since their first show at an outdoor summer Festival. Their influences in many different kinds of music are obvious; funk, classic rock, jazz, retro pop, and pscyhadelia. Roslyn combines all these musical ideas and gives them a unique fresh pop-rock sound. Their songwriting is intelligent and danceable. Some songs such as Your Love Takes Me are rockin’ and catchy, while White Flowers shows a more sensitive, soft rock side of the band. Roslyn is also a very hardworking band; looking at their past shows, there hasn’t been more than a week break since their first shows in the summer.

All members are professional musicians and Roslyn is constantly writing more material and playing together. They’re playing all over Western Canada with more bookings coming all the time. Roslyn’s live show is energetic and fun to watch. They’re love for the music shows when the play and they always have the dance floor packed.

Roslyn has attractively packaged demos, T-shirts, stickers and posters for sale to their fans. Roslyn has airplay on local radio stations in Winnipeg such as HOT 103.1, UMFM 101.5, KICK FM 92.9, CKUW 95.9 and also in Steinbach on Mix 96.7 FM. They also filmed an episode for online TV station AmpedUp TV and are scheduled to appear on Winnipeg’s CityTv Breakfast Television.

Your Love Takes Me

Written By: Roslyn

I'm standing here
Looking to the sky
Don't know why
I'm not here with you

Travellin' here
And travellin' there
All through this universe
No no, nothing compares

All through time
And all through space
What I live for
Is to see your face

Your love takes me to another world(x4)

We're taking off
And we'll leave today
I'll be with you
All night and day

Our trip is long
Destination far
Your love will take me
Through the stars

Years and years
Will pass us by
Your love still warm
Like the blue, blue sky

White Flowers

Written By: Roslyn

The days grew weary,
nights too long
Fighting and violence
have hindered our song
From them comes madness,
desire to harm
I choose the laughter,
the warmth and the charm

Give me white flowers in a warm day of spring
With peace in our eyes, not worryin' bout a thing (x2)

The old men, the young men
they're all here
They'd love to live,
with nothing to fear
Their fight is hard,
opponent tough
They've seen it all,
they've suffered enough

White flowers on the ground
White doves, what a beautiful sound (x4)

Riverboat Rouge

Written By: Roslyn

Moon coming up the old tired river
A fire swells up in the boat's loving heart
The boat's loving heart

Me and my baby
On a riverboat rouge
Singin' and laughin'
On a riverboat rouge

A man walks up the plank with his girl
Both cannot to wait for the magic to start
For the magic to start

The birds sing sweet songs
In the cool summer night
Both are tryin' to make
Every, everything alright

Roslyn released a three song demo in September 2008. Stay tuned for their upcoming full length debut album release in Summer '09.
