Ross Ramsay

Ross Ramsay has been playing and composing music virtually his entire life. Born into a musically diverse family, even before the start of traditional piano studies at the age of 5, sounds ranging from Stravinsky to Miles Davis were already familiar to his young ears. Now with over 25 years of professional experience, diversity continues to be a major theme in his musical career.

Ross has been a featured soloist on piano and keyboards with various artists touring throughout the United States and Europe. He enjoys the challenges of tackling a wide variety of styles and is equally at home playing acoustic piano in an intimate jazz club or on a large stage with the latest keyboard technology. Currently, Ross is dividing his time performing between his own Jazz/Fusion band, and with fellow Berklee professor and Boston Pops/Symphony Orchestra guitarist Jon Finn.

As a composer and producer, his work can be heard on nationally and internationally broadcast television, cable, video, and radio programming. He has worked for Yamaha Corporation of America as a clinician and product specialist since 2000.

Ross has been teaching privately since 1982, but in 2001 he joined the faculty of Berklee College of Music as a member of the piano and music synthesis departments. As an educator, he has been recognized for his accomplishments in numerous editions of Who’s Who of American Teachers. Ross also teaches keyboard and desktop music production for Berklee’s online extension school Berkleemusic.com. Ross is the author of music instructional books available worldwide in various languages.
