Roszone

Roszone! How do you say it? “Ross zone”? “Razone”? No. Its neither of those. Her name is pronounced, “Rose Zone”. And this young woman will correct you each time you say her name wrong. She wants you to get it right and get her right! She is a very self-confident and straight-to-the-point kind of girl. She brings that attitude to her music that she writes. Very matter-of-fact material that the is proud to sing for her audience. While she has been an indie artist for her entire life-long career, she recently has been building her name in the Bay Area and creating a buzz around town. She never misses an opportunity to perform to and create one-on-one relationships with her fans who she loves dearly.

Roszone began singing in school talents shows and was a studio singer for all the local rappers of her neighborhood singing their “hooks”. One day she discovered that she could be more that just a singer and wrote an entire song that she recorded at the age of 13. Once she shared that song with her friends and they all loved it she got the motivation to keep singing and writing. Roszone got her first experience singing in a band when she attended The Horus School of Music and studied voice with Horus Tolsen. She then auditioned to sing in another local R&B band where she played weekly at venues such as Jeffrey’s.

Passionate about music but with no formal music training growing up, she dedicated herself to perfecting her craft through more music classes. She studied at The Jazz School and took performance classes in Boston from teachers who taught at Berklee College of Music. She ended up in Hollywood, CA to attend Musician’s Institute for two years. There she joined a Hip-Hop band and was the lead singer as well as manager of the band. She sang all around town practically every day of the week. She juggled school, managing and singing lead in a band as well as working while in Tinseltown!

Roszone is a hard worker, dedicated and committed to her purpose in life, which is to inspire people with uplifting music. The lyrics in her music paint a picture of a rich inner world and her performance and stage presence reveals the magnanimous spirit she possesses. She recently crossed over and has been singing Reggae in a band named Lakay with Mystic Man. This past year she played at the top Bay Area venues such as Pier 23, Shattuck Downlow, Rockit Room, Ashkenaz and the Monterey Bay Reggae Festival.

She currently is pursuing her very own musical endeavors and is now playing with a band called Steppin’ Haul. Her album is in the works and will be released at the end of spring to kick off the summer with a bang! A big bang...watch this girl she is rising!
