ROTH BART BARON

ROTH BART BARON is a new-generation band based in Tokyo Japan. Their first 2 independently released EPs were sold out after receiving supports by some Japanese independent record shops. The anticipated debut album ROTH BART BARON'S The Ice Age is a masterpiece which brings new perspective to the emotions felt as youth living in Tokyo, taking in foreign air from far away land as a sense of the time. The album was mixed by Jonathan Low, the engineer who worked with The National, Sufjan Stevens etc. Some tracks in the album were recorded in a studio in Philadelphia by Brian McTear, who worked with Kurt Vile, War on Drugs, Sharon VanEtten, etc. Both Johnathan and Brian agree that they've enjoyed the process of working with ROTH BART BARON very much and as a result, the exact sounds ROTH BART BARON envisioned were born. Its grand soundscape created with various instruments such as horns and glockenspiel is reminiscent of Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, GrizzlyBear and the like.The lyrics weaved with only a few words by the band' vocal, Masaya Mifune are like fairy stories and, at the same time, are the strong life force felt thorough the album. You can hear the influences of international music in their sound style but the mixture of warm Japanese lyrics and the great melody produce ROTH BART BARON's original pop music.
