Rough Child

Hailing from an undisclosed location on Canada's West Coast, Rough Child is somewhat of a mystery in the world of dance music. Who is he? Why the Red Shield? And why the socio-political message in his music? Questions that will surely be answered in time, but with his debut release, the 'New World EP' dropping late last year on the mighty Rottun Recordings, he is fast becoming a name to watch.

His latest offering, which inspired the creation of Indie/Dance act 'The Fear Official', is a free download entitled 'Freeway' - an epic fusion of Rock & Dubstep that does NOT disappoint on the dancefloor! Also available is Rough Child's most recent DJ mix - As Above/So Below, which has been described as a vicious yet delightful multi-genre assault on the senses. Now, with a host of original tunes & remixes dropping in 2013, support from the likes of Pyramid (Funkatech) & Excision (Rottun), and his first tour of Canada in the works, we'll soon see if Rough Child can live up to the only public statement he's made thus far: "Give me control of a nation's music, and I care not who makes her laws."
